soooo like I hate it that people act like this new swine flu is going to kill people all over the world in the news it's treated like it's some pandemic disease that's going to extinct entire mankind. wth?

what I know is that there is about 600 cases in which swine flu has been confirmed (WHO organisation talks about approx. 380), and just about 16 people died worldwide due to swine flu. [link]

here in Germany I heard about 3 cases in which a person was infected with the virus and also infected 2 another people in hospital (a nurse and another inpatient who was his room mate). All of them are doing rather very well and don't have any symptoms anymore. They were sucessfully treated with medicine that is also used as for "normal" influenza.
Thinking about this, swine flu can't be considered as a pandemic disease since it only infected 2 other people here in my country.

what I know is (from a local radio I'm normally listen to) that people don't know this new virus and the way it should be treated - this explains the widespread insecureness and thus the panic the media creates. From what I've heard and read (mainly on internets), it's not much different from the normal virus type since people can be healed if they're taken care of.
BESIDES most of deaths came from Mexico, and I think we all know that this isn't a country in which sanitation and health care are set up high. In a modern society with average health care system we should be fine.


so, only reason why there's such a panic in the media is, that the virus is new and even experts are not sure how to handle this new illness. So it's going to be treated like some horrible apocalypse. DAMN THE GREEDY MEDIA!

if you stick on common rules like washin your hands I don't think you have to worry about swine flu
